Thanks for visiting the new website. We’re trying to add new content so please pardon the dust until the construction is completed. In the meantime though take a look around and give our live blues a listen. As much as I have always loved blues CD’s from the classics to the new releases, there is just something about seeing blues live in a club in the heart of Chicago that takes it to another level….at least for me personally at least. That is what we tried to capture in each of these live recordings and broadcasts we did from Kingston Mines. Over the years we had a chance to see thousands of great shows and do several hundred live recordings and broadcasts.

some of the artists recorded in no particular order include: Big Jack Johnson, Mem Shannon, John Primer, Billy Branch, Carlos Johnson, Son Seals, R.L. Burnside, Li’l Ed, Magic Slim, Detroit Junior, Byther Smith, Jimmy Johnson, Shirley Dixon-Nelson, Bonnie Lee, Larry McCray, Nellie “Tiger” Travis, A.C. Reed, Carl Weathersby, Joanna Connor, Lurrie Bell, Melvin Taylor, Eddie Shaw, Tom Holland, Jimmy Burns, Alberta Adams, Mike Wheeler, the Marty Sammon Band, and so many others.

In addition to the live recordings and broadcasts we had a chance to interview some of the biggest and best known names in the blues regularly on the radio program. Hundreds of interviews with your favorite blues performers.

Some artists interviewed on TCBX in addition to all of the above include: B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor, Luther Allison, Junior Wells, Tinsley Ellis, Chris Duarte, Lonnie Brooks, Ronnie & Wayne Brooks, Otis Rush, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, and wrestling legend Bob Backlund

TCBX The Chicago Blues Explosion was started as a result of an intense passion for the blues. That led us on a quest to meet the musicians and learn even more about the music. To say it was an incredible experience is an understatement. Over the years we have had a chance to meet many amazing musicians. Without their dedication and desire there would be no blues. We are happy to do what we can to help the musicians spread their music….we hope to be able to release CD’s in the near future that will also generate some royalties for the musicians. We also plan on doing lots of interviews and live broadcasts again as this gets rolling. For now we are using Ustream but that may change. If you would like to volunteer any services or contribute any authorized recordings, photos, or stories we welcome the help. Most importantly though thanks for supporting Live Chicago Blues.
